The Mount Olive Senior Center opened in 1999 and was built with generous donations of materials and $150,000 in seed money obtained when longtime Councilwoman Barbara Swasey won a lawsuit against the Oakwood Village apartment complex for failing to fulfill a developer’s agreement.
The Mount Olive Senior Center also serves as a Mid-Day Friendship Nutrition Site on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays through the Morris County Nutrition Project.
