Board of Education elections are non-partisan in New Jersey and Mount Olive Democrats do not endorse candidates. We do feel it is important for voters to be informed and that ballot design should not determine a race. This year there are 6 candidates running for 3 seats with a 3 year term. There are also 3 candidates running for one unexpired one year term as shown in the picture of a Mail-In Ballot. The League of Women Voters will be moderating a forum on September 28th at 6PM. Information follows below.
League of Women Voters Board of Education Candidate Forum
“With the mission to promote informed voting, the League of Women Voters of Warren and West Morris Counties is sponsoring a virtual forum for candidates seeking election to the Mount Olive Board of Education.The forum will be divided into two parts. Part 1 will begin at 6 pm with Amy Rubin and John Voli who are 2 (out of 3) candidates vying for 1 seat of a 1 year (unexpired) term. Part 2 will immediately follow at 7:30 pm. Jennifer Aquino, Anthony Strillacci, Elizabeth Ouimet, Marc Orzillo and John Petrie are 5 (out of 6) candidates seeking one of 3 seats for a 3 year term.
